Leanne Boehm, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC
Leanne's research focuses on strategies to improve outcomes for the critically ill. She has worked extensively on reducing the prevalence of ICU delirium through implementation of the ABCDEF interprofessional evidence-based bundle. Leanne completed postdoctoral fellowships with the Veterans Affairs Quality Scholars program and Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. During her fellowship experiences she implemented ICU diary and support group programs for Veterans and support persons experiencing critical illness and post-intensive care syndrome (PICS) – the multidimensional morbidities associated with recovery from critical illness. The Nashville VA hospital is the first to implement both programs and the first to participate in an international collaborative for implementation of ICU peer support programs to address PICS.
