James Jackson, PsyD

James Jackson, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in neuropsychological research and assessment at the Vanderbilt Center for Health Services Research and the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

He received his PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in July, 2001, after completing a residency at the Vanderbilt/VA Psychology Consortium. He has worked as a staff psychologist at a community hospital and as a neuropsychological researcher at the Long Beach VAMC. He is an adjunct faculty member at Trevecca Nazarene University and maintains an active psychotherapy outpatient practice. He has numerous publications and is a frequent presenter at national and international meetings. He is a member of the International Psychogeriatric Association and the American Psychological Association, and an associate member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

In his current role at the Center for Health Services Research, Dr. Jackson designs and implements the neuropsychological components of numerous projects. Dr. Jackson is involved in investigations that focus on the effects of delirium and critical illness on long-term cognitive functioning as well as the study of psychological disorders such as depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in patients after critical illness.
