Alessandro Morandi, MD

Alessandro Morandi, MD is a clinical fellow in the Geriatric Division at University “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” in Rome (Italy) and a research fellow in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Brescia, Italy. His research interest includes the aging brain, acquired cognitive dysfunction and functional outcomes of elderly patients admitted to ICU for critical illness and their subsequent clinical disposition and clinical course. His current research includes evaluation of delirium, long-term cognitive impairment in mechanically ventilated patients, MRI brain changes in delirious patients, and genetics predisposition to delirium.
